What counts as a document?

Every invoice, credit note or correction you issue counts as one document. In practice there is usually one document per payment or order, so your payments per month are a good guide.

Is the archive really always included?

Yes. Included means at no extra charge. The archive and DATEV export are not add-on modules; they are covered by the base fee and the per-document price. You pay no storage or archive fee for retention as long as your account exists, including in dormant mode.

Is there a free plan?

There is no permanently free plan: Rechnungskit is a compliance product that takes over your legal obligations, and for that it charges a fair, low base fee. Testing is free: every account starts in sandbox mode with real connections but only test data, with no fees at all. You are only billed from go-live.

Can I cancel monthly?

Yes. Billing is monthly, and you can cancel at any time effective at the end of the current month: your last active day is the last day of the month, and the final invoice follows on the 1st of the next month. You then have 90 days for the free full export. The base fee only starts with your first full billing month.

What happens to my archive if I cancel?

The 8-year retention is part of your active account, which is exactly what the base fee pays for, including in dormant mode without new documents. After you cancel, you have 90 days for the complete, free GoBD export. Then we delete all records, references and checksums: from that moment nobody can access or find your invoices, including us. There is one technical caveat: the archive sits in WORM storage (write once, read many), which by design allows no deletion or change during the protection period. That is what makes the archive audit-proof. The encrypted files therefore remain as unattributable data blocks with no link to you until the protection period ends, and are then removed permanently and automatically. The retention duty under § 147 AO lies with you as the business, not with us as the service provider: with the export package you keep meeting it yourself.
