TikTok pixel in the checkout

The TikTok pixel measures purchases in the Rechnungskit checkout for your TikTok ads. Under Connections → Integrations, on the TikTok Pixel card (Connect expands the field), you enter only the pixel ID, which you find in TikTok Events Manager. Rechnungskit checks the format strictly; the card does not accept your own code or snippets. Rechnungskit adds TikTok's official loading code itself.

When the pixel loads

Only after consent. As soon as the TikTok pixel is active and your company details contain a privacy policy URL, the checkout shows the consent bar (details on the help page Consent and cookie banner in the checkout, in German). Only after a click on Accept does the checkout load TikTok's script. Without a yes, no TikTok script runs and the ttclid from your ad is not stored. The checkout's Content Security Policy allows the TikTok domains only on your checkout pages.

Consent is required by § 25 Abs. 1 TDDDG. Under the EDPB Guidelines 2/2023, para. 50 f., even collecting a click ID such as the ttclid counts as access to the user's device.

Which events are sent

  • a page view when the checkout page loads
  • InitiateCheckout as soon as the buyer starts filling in the form
  • a Purchase event (Subscribe for subscriptions) after payment, with amount, currency and an event ID. For test purchases and test subscriptions from test mode it stays off.

The pixel does not run on the page with the bank details for prepayment or in the customer portal. Rechnungskit does not pass names, email addresses or postal addresses to TikTok. Automatic advanced matching, which reads form fields, is a setting at TikTok: switch it off in TikTok Events Manager in the pixel's settings, because Rechnungskit cannot switch it off from its code.
