Rechnungskit
Rechnungskit vs. ablefy

ablefy alternative: sell in your own name with e-invoicing and DATEV

Rechnungskit lets you sell courses, coaching, downloads and subscriptions in your own name, without a shop: one checkout link per product, payment through your Mollie, Stripe, PayPal or Unzer account, and right after payment the e-invoice with your own number sequence, a GoBD archive and finished DATEV bookings. ablefy (formerly elopage) is a sales and course platform: checkout, course hosting, affiliates, dunning. The invoice is a PDF per payment, or in the reseller model the partner namotto issues it in its own name.

The short version

Rechnungskit fits if …

you sell in your own name and want an e-invoice instead of a PDF, the money straight from your payment provider instead of from an escrow account on request, and booking records with a Beleglink for your tax advisor instead of CSV exports.

ablefy fits if …

you want to host courses, memberships and community on the same platform, sell through affiliates and funnels, offer installments, Klarna or pay-by-invoice and hand off dunning all the way to debt collection. In the reseller model you don't need invoicing software for these sales; the credit note is your record.

ablefy is the sales platform with courses, affiliates and dunning; Rechnungskit is the checkout with e-invoicing, archive and DATEV. If you sell in your own name on ablefy, you have the same obligations as with Rechnungskit, but you get a PDF and CSV instead of an e-invoice and booking records.

When is ablefy the better choice?

Rechnungskit doesn't do everything. In these cases, ablefy is the more honest recommendation.

You want courses, memberships and community on one platform

ablefy hosts online courses, memberships, community and e-tickets next to the checkout. Rechnungskit doesn't host anything: after payment, a webhook goes to your course platform, for example via Zapier, Make or n8n, and unlocks access there.

You sell through affiliates, funnels and installments

Affiliate programs with up to five tiers, order bumps, upsells, countdowns, installments, Klarna and pay-by-invoice are ablefy's core. The Rechnungskit checkout handles one-time purchases and subscriptions with a trial period; affiliates, funnels and installments are missing there.

You don't want to handle dunning and debt collection yourself

ablefy sends a reminder after 7 days, dunning letters three times from 30 days and hands over to Creditreform for 10% of the amount collected. For pay-by-invoice, Rechnungskit sends two payment reminders and does not hand over to debt collection.

You want to hand off VAT completely

In the reseller model, namotto becomes your buyers' contracting party, issues the invoice and owes the VAT; you get a credit note. With Rechnungskit you sell yourself and need the OSS scheme once you pass the EU threshold; Rechnungskit monitors the threshold and delivers the evaluation, while filing stays with you or your tax advisor.

What Rechnungskit does differently

Tax compliance

VAT ID check in your own checkout

When a business from another EU country enters its VAT ID at checkout, Rechnungskit runs a qualified check with the BZSt, including company name and address. Only if it is confirmed is the invoice issued without VAT and with a reverse-charge note. The response stays in the archive for eight years, linked to the invoice. At ablefy, the tax table controls the reverse-charge rate; a check with evidence is not documented.

Qualified BZSt check right in the checkout
Reverse charge only with a confirmed VAT ID, never for consumers
The check never blocks the purchase
Accounting

Booking records instead of a CSV export

Your tax advisor gets an EXTF booking record per sale with a Beleglink to the e-invoice, plus your payment provider's payouts broken down into revenue by tax rate, fees and money in transit. From ablefy, they get CSV exports for invoices, payments and payout documents and build the bookings from them.

Fees and payouts already matched
Your tax advisor downloads them directly

Switching in three steps

1
Set up products

Create courses, downloads, licenses or subscriptions as products in Rechnungskit and connect your own Mollie, Stripe, PayPal or Unzer account. Each product gets a checkout link.

2
Test in parallel

In sandbox mode you buy once yourself: invoice, number sequence, the webhook that unlocks the course, DATEV export. Only then do you go live.

3
Swap the links

The buy buttons on your site point to the Rechnungskit checkout. Running subscriptions stay with the old platform until customers sign up again; the old credit notes stay there as records.

FAQ

Sales and invoicing, yes; the rest, no. Rechnungskit replaces the ablefy checkout with your own checkout link with e-invoicing, GoBD archive and DATEV bookings. Courses, memberships, community, affiliates, funnels, installments and dunning with debt collection remain ablefy's territory; if you depend on those, stay there or keep hosting the course on a course platform. In the reseller model, namotto issues the invoice, so you don't need invoicing software for those sales.

Yes, and that's the usual way to switch. You run both systems in parallel for one billing period and compare documents and bookings before you switch over.

They stay where they are. Rechnungskit doesn't import or archive invoices created elsewhere; you keep meeting your retention duty for old documents (eight years under § 14b (1) UStG and § 147 (3) AO) in your previous system. What Rechnungskit can pull in are past orders and payments from your connected shops and payment providers, which then become new, validated invoices. For the number sequence, you set the number Rechnungskit continues from, so nothing overlaps with your old documents.

Documents are stored tamper-proof and unchangeable for eight years for as long as your account exists (WORM archive with checksums). Eight years is the retention period for invoices and accounting records (§ 14b (1) UStG, § 147 (3) AO); the requirements for the archive are set out in the GoBD. You can export them at any time, and for 90 days free of charge after you cancel. The final assessment of your process documentation (Verfahrensdokumentation) is up to your tax advisor.

Yes, that's what the Rechnungskit checkout is built for. You create the product, set the price and tax rate and get a link (checkout.rechnungskit.de/c/your-product) to put in your bio, newsletter or website; for subscriptions there is a separate link per plan, with a trial period if you want. Payment happens on your provider's payment page; Rechnungskit issues the e-invoice right after payment, because digital services don't need a shipping date. You trigger the unlock in your course platform or the download link via a webhook, for example with Zapier, Make or n8n. You don't need any shop integration for this.

In your own name you are your customers' contracting party, with your own terms, your own tax table and a PDF invoice per payment; the money sits in an escrow account at ablefy's banking partner or runs through your PayPal business account, and you request revenue older than seven days. In the reseller model, the partner namotto becomes the contracting party: it issues the invoice, owes the VAT, handles dunning and withdrawals and pays you via a credit note, for 2.5% plus €1 per payment. Rechnungskit matches the first model, only with an e-invoice instead of a PDF, the money directly with your payment provider and booking records instead of CSV.

That is not publicly documented. The help center describes the automatic invoice as a PDF with logo, prefix and starting number and says, as of October 2024, that the e-invoicing obligation is "not yet applicable at the start of 2025" for sellers based in Germany. Since 2025, German businesses must be able to receive e-invoices. Issuing e-invoices to German businesses becomes mandatory from 2027 for sellers with prior-year revenue above €800,000 and from 2028 for everyone else (§ 14 (2) sentence 2 no. 1 UStG, § 27 (38) UStG). Rechnungskit issues every invoice as ZUGFeRD, as XRechnung for public-sector buyers with a Leitweg-ID, and validates it against EN 16931 before it goes out. If ablefy offers this by now, write to us and we will re-date the table.

With ablefy in your own name, every payment from the CSV exports for invoices, payments, chargebacks and payout documents; in the reseller model, one credit note per payout, one or two a month, with a transaction PDF and CSV. With Rechnungskit, every invoice as a booking record in DATEV format with a Beleglink, plus your payment provider's payouts broken down into revenue by tax rate, fees and money in transit; your tax advisor downloads it directly in the tax advisor portal. Ask your tax advisor which they prefer.

With ablefy in your own name, it sits in the integrated escrow account and you request revenue older than seven days; with your own PayPal business account, the PayPal share lands there directly. In the reseller model, namotto keeps a buffer of 15 to 30 days, creates the credit note on the 1st and transfers within three business days after the 1st or 15th, from €50. With Rechnungskit, payment runs directly through your contract with Mollie, Stripe, PayPal or Unzer; when the provider pays out is set by its payout schedule, not by Rechnungskit.

No. Rechnungskit sells and issues the invoice; the course stays hosted on your course platform, such as Memberspot, Thinkific, Teachable or your own site. After payment, Rechnungskit sends a webhook (checkout.paid, and for subscriptions subscription.started and the follow-up events), which you translate into the unlock with Zapier, Make or n8n. If you want course, community and sales in one tool, ablefy is the better fit.

Yes. elopage is now called ablefy; the company is ablefy GmbH, based in Berlin, listed in the commercial register (HRB 151956 B) as the former Elopage GmbH, and according to the provider, old elopage.com links still redirect. The models, prices and help articles in this table come from ablefy.io and support.ablefy.io as of September 11, 2026.

You set up new sales as products in the Rechnungskit checkout and swap the buy button on your site for the new link. Running ablefy subscriptions and installment plans continue at ablefy; subscriptions or payment mandates can't be transferred, so your customers sign up for a new subscription with you. The old invoices and credit notes stay at ablefy, where you keep meeting your retention duty as before. You keep hosting courses and memberships where they are.

From the providers' publicly available sources, checked on July 28, 2026, with footnotes for each row. Where we found no reliable source, the table says "Not documented". If you spot a mistake, write to support@rechnungskit.de and we'll correct it and re-date the page.
